The Pile Of Projects!
I will be posting here as I complete each project, including pictures. I will have a running tally, in the hopes it will motivate me to finish! 5/30/2001: I completed one of the Learn Bearmaking kits from Spare Bear parts, the bear on all fours. Only 33 sewing projects to go!
7/4/2001: Today was a productive day. I mended a skirt I should have fixed months ago (1), finished up the portfolio project from sewing club (2), finished the jointed fur bear kit from Spare Bear Parts (3) and finished a blouse I started YEARS ago (4). For the blouse, I needed to sew on the cuffs, hem the bottom and put on the buttons and buttonholes. I made a big dent in the pile! 8/4/01: Finished a kit to make three small bandboxes from cardboard and wallpaper. Fun to try, but I will be avoiding anything with glue for a while! 8/23/01: Finished a counted cross-stitch kit for the lid of a Christmas Cookie tin. I started this kit six years ago, but left it 75% finished-- better late than never, I guess! 8/26/01: I finished a kit to make clothes for a pre-made doll from a cross-stitched pillow case. I have made quite a few of these in the past; I found several on sale for $5.00, and couldn't pass up that deal! 3/3/2002: This morning (2 am), I finished a woven afghan I had been working on for the last two years. I bought the special net-fabric(?) at Herrschner's over ten years ago, and bought the colors to make a different woven afghan four years ago. Chris was quite amazed when he realized I was in the home stretch, and started taking pictures. I have one more woven afghan project from my mom's stash, but I will be putting off working on that one for a while. 8/25/2002: Productive day: finished a felt applique kit I bought at Herrschner's four years ago. Also finished a pair of fabric-covered boxes, and a stuffed cat kit. 4/30/2003: I finished the mohair bear kit from Spare Bear Parts that has been sitting almost finished for quite a while!
6/12/05: Finished a counted cross-stitch kit for the lid of a Christmas Cookie tin. I finished it during my lunch hour at work, since doing it at home is near impossible! The project pile was diminished a bit last month, when I gave a big bagfull to Theresa to do, but I didn't count how many, so I haven't changed the table. I will adjust it someday when I finish (ha ha!). |
